Research
CLALS sponsors research that creates new knowledge about Latin American and Latino/a culture in the United States. Sponsorship takes the form of grant support for individual scholars and artists and their specific projects, and assists with initiative support of established organizations that complete multiple projects.  In addition, to honor the memory of a much appreciated colleague, the Center offers the opportunity for research support for studies related to the Caribbean through the Mark Alleyne Memorial Award.  These funds will be provided on an application and relevance basis to individuals involved in research at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Initiatives
Members of the Center for Latin American and Latino/a Studies have initiated research intended to address the specific needs of the growing Latin American and Latino/a communities in the metropolitan Atlanta region. These initiatives are directly responsive to the Strategic Plan of GSU.
